Wooden Name Jigsaws

I have a real soft spot for personalised things. When he was a baby, my brother David got a tiny blue t-shirt with his name (in red felt lettering) across the front. I loved and coveted this t-shirt  (though obviously I wanted a ‘Paula’ version!) and since then have always been drawn to personalised items. Couple my love of personalised things with my obsession with all things wooden and you get a wooden name puzzle:

These gorgeous puzzles are made by Mooo, an Australian company specialising in personalised children’s gifts and clothing. They start at $24.95 AUD (which roughly equates to €15.35) for a three letter name and increase by $3AUD (or $1.85) for each additional letter. For an additional $14.95 AUD you can get a special wooden storage box but I like the idea of leaving these puzzles out on show. The letter pieces themselves are painted (using child safe paint) in vibrant colours and the back of the puzzle is decorated with an array of rainbow coloured animals.

I got one each for Mr Moo and Lollipop for Christmas and they really are beautifully made.   For the two puzzles, the shipping to Dublin cost $13.70 (€8.43) which I thought was pretty good.

What a lovely way to teach a child how to recognise and spell their own name. I think that they would make a lovely and really original present

Mooo are currently out of stock of the 3-6 letter name sizes but don’t let a delay deter you, these are worth waiting for.
